Sims Park, a historical landmark in New Port Richey, has been the social centerpiece of the city for 114 years. The park’s history traces back to the Port Richey Company, and after several changes in ownership, it was donated to the city and renamed ‘Sims Park’ in 1924. Over the years, the park has hosted various events, from dances and picnics to the first Chasco Fiesta in 1922.
