The Deputy Andy Lahera Act, named after injured Citrus County Deputy Lahera, aims to help law enforcement officers financially when injured in the line of duty. An event was held to raise funds for injured Pasco Deputy Buddy Allman who was trapped in floodwaters during Hurricane Milton. Currently, injured officers only receive 66% of their pay if not chasing a felon or involved in an unlawful act.
