Citizens Simulate National Debt Solutions At Town Hall Meeting

A town hall meeting was held by U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis in Crystal River, Florida, where citizens simulated solutions to the national debt crisis. The meeting aimed to address the trillions of dollars added to the national debt over the years, a problem that Congress has failed to address. Participants were given a packet explaining the country’s fiscal outlook and had to make decisions on cutting or funding various federal programs, including Social Security and Medicare. The two-hour exercise resulted in potential savings of $4.5 trillion.
