Commissioner Opposes Large Accessory Dwelling Units In Pasco County

Pasco County voted in favor of allowing Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), but one commissioner, Kathryn Starkey, cast the lone ‘no’ vote due to the approved size of the ADUs, which she believes is too large at 1,200 square feet. Commissioner Jack Mariano feels strongly about allowing the 1,200-square-foot limit to remain in the ordinance, while Starkey wants a limit of no more than 900 square feet. The debate centered around the question of how big is too big for an ADU.
