A new study found that U.S. 19, specifically in Pinellas and Pasco counties, was the deadliest portion of roadway in the state with thousands of crashes every year. FDOT is working on a $240 million dollar project to increase capacity and improve safety on the highway, but the project is not expected to be completed until 2029.
