Fentanyl Crisis Continues To Plague Florida Despite Decrease In Overdose Deaths

A Tampa tattoo artist, Colt Baker, died from a fentanyl overdose at a California rehab center after being sober for about 100 days. Despite a decrease in overdose deaths across the U.S. last year, fentanyl use remains a crisis in Florida and experts warn that more resources are needed to address the issue. Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, is 50 to 100 times more powerful than morphine and is often mixed with other drugs to increase profits and give buyers a more powerful high.
