The DeSantis administration is defending its handling of Medicaid in federal court over gender dysphoria treatments and children’s coverage. Florida has removed over 1.8 million residents, including 600,000 children, from Medicaid since April 2023, with a lawsuit claiming the notices were confusing and did not provide adequate due process. A lawsuit also challenges Florida’s eligibility rules for KidCare expansion. No ruling is expected until after the bench trial starting Monday.
