Florida Reopens Bay Scallop Fishing Season After Safety Concerns

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) has announced the reopening of the bay scallop season in Pasco County, Florida, after a temporary closure due to elevated levels of saxitoxin and Pyrodinium bahamanse. The season will be open from August 28 to September 24, 2024, and officials will continue monitoring scallops and water samples for any safety issues.
