Florida Sheriff Settles Unconstitutional Monitoring Lawsuit For $105,000

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has agreed to a settlement of $105,000 to four plaintiffs who alleged unconstitutional monitoring and harassment. The lawsuit accused the sheriff’s ‘prolific offender’ program of using predictive policing to target people, without any requirements for probable cause. The settlement ends the disputed practices, and the case was based on false reporting by former deputies who conducted the program.
