The Florida Supreme Court has ruled that counties must pay property taxes on land they own outside their borders, ending a decade-long dispute between two Tampa Bay counties. The case centered on ranch land owned by Pinellas County in north Pasco County, which had stopped paying taxes after an internal audit suggested it was immune to taxation.
