William Rutherford has been the band director of Gulf High School for 30 years. This year, he was named Teacher of the Year and is a finalist for Pasco County Teacher of the Year. He believes that music and the arts are important for human development and that every student should have the opportunity to participate in his band program. Rutherford’s daughters and wife are also involved in music at Gulf High.
