A group of friends and colleagues gathered at Christina’s Family Restaurant in New Port Richey, Florida to share a meal and surprise a waitress, Tessa Jesmer, with a $2,100 tip as a way of paying it forward. Tessa, a single mother working three part-time jobs, shared the money with her fellow coworkers. This act was part of a biannual tradition every Christmas Eve and once during the summer organized by the city’s deputy mayor, Kelly Mothershead.
