The GFWC Pasco Junior Woman’s Club held a clothing swap at the Land O’ Lakes Branch Library on February 20 to collect gently used clothing and household items for donation. The event was open to the public and did not charge for anything. The club collected more than 780 pieces of clothing and 26 pairs of shoes, along with small household items. The majority of the items were donated to organizations in need in the community, including Sunrise of Pasco Inc., Faith In Action, local Title 1 schools, and the Cinderella and Prince Charming Project of Pasco. The club plans to have another swap in the spring at a date to be determined. The group meets on the first Wednesday of the month to discuss volunteer activities and fundraisers. The next major fundraiser is Pinwheels for Prevention, and the beneficiary is Family Support Services. For more information, visit the club’s website or Facebook page.
