Hillsborough County’s 27-year-old Community Investment Tax (CIT tax) could be on the November ballot for renewal. Commissioners have been discussing a proposal to explore a head start on reauthorizing the tax. The tax has generated $2.6 billion through fiscal year 2022 and has supported various public works projects in the area.
