A post on New Port Richey’s Facebook page that told voters they had to produce proof of residency was corrected after the city was told the information was wrong. Proof of residency is not required in order to vote, and the city intentionally used the wrong wording in the post due to confusion over city boundaries. The city removed the offending sentence as soon as they heard from the Supervisor of Elections.
