Insurance Brokerage Executive Accused Of Fraudulent ACA Enrollments

A vice president of an insurance brokerage firm and his accomplices are accused of submitting false applications for ineligible individuals to receive subsidies for health insurance plans offered through the federal marketplace. The scheme resulted in at least $133 million in subsidies paid by the government. The executive, Dafud Iza, pled guilty to major fraud against the United States and faces up to 10 years in prison.
