Dell deChant, a senior instructor emeritus of religious studies at the University of South Florida, is committed to helping people become locavores by promoting local food systems. He is the chair of the New Port Richey Environmental Committee and the founder of New Port Richey FarmNet. The organization runs programs like the community Grand Gardens and four yearly festivals that highlight indigenous crops.
