A polar vortex has brought cold weather to Florida, forcing manatees to seek warmer waters at springs, power plant discharge areas, and other warm-water sites. The Big Bend Power Station and Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River have become popular refuges for the protected species. Over 300 manatees were spotted at Three Sisters Springs on Wednesday.
