A new fire station in New Port Richey, Florida is being constructed to increase efficiency and prioritize the safety of firefighters. The station is twice as large as the old one, featuring decontamination areas and equipment to capture exhaust from fire trucks, natural lighting to reduce stress, soundproof windows, and a design that can withstand a Category 5 hurricane. The project is estimated to cost $4.5 million.
