New Laws Limit Book Challenges In Florida Schools

Florida is about to make it harder to challenge books in schools. A new law signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis on April 16 will limit the number of book challenges residents without kids in school can file to one per month, though no penalties are outlined in the law. The cap, according to DeSantis, is necessary because the state does not want to create a ‘cottage industry’ of book challenges.
