The New Port Richey city council has approved the purchase of land fronting the Cotee River known as the Montemayor parcel, which is located between a boat ramp park and the Potter Property. This acquisition will increase the city’s ownership of the riverfront, with plans for redevelopment discussed in later meetings. Some residents are concerned about the fate of the boat ramp, but the city plans to work with the community to plan the use of the adjacent properties.
