A committee of teachers and parents in Pasco County, Florida, has partially upheld a mother’s objection to a book of essays by LGBTQ+ authors, saying it does not belong in district middle schools but declining to remove it from the district altogether. The panel recommended allowing the book in high schools, where members said the material would be more age appropriate.
