Pasco County Commission has approved higher impact fees requested by the school district to cater for the need for new classrooms and schools. The decision, however, faced resistance from local real estate professionals who argued that the increase in fees will drive up the cost of housing. Commissioner Seth Weightman expressed concern about the total impact fees reaching over $34,000 in a few years, fearing it may erode affordability.
