Pasco County Fire Rescue Chief Anthony “Tony” Perez has resigned, effective shortly after serving for more than a year in the position. Perez, who began his tenure as fire chief in July 2023, officially took over on August 1, 2023. The reasons for his resignation were not disclosed by the department.
Following his departure, Assistant Chief Ryan Guynn will serve as the interim fire chief during the transition period. Perez had a 26-year career in firefighting, working for both Pasco Fire Rescue and Tampa Fire Rescue, holding various roles including firefighter, paramedic, and several leadership positions.
