Pasco County firefighters held a series of training exercises for high-water rescues using their swift water inflatable boats, practicing flipping over capsized boats and rescues from water. They emphasized teamwork and independence, as they could be dealing with multiple rescues simultaneously. The department received two new swift boats this year and saw their importance during Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024, when they rescued hundreds of people.
