Pasco County Reconsiders Noxious Weed Regulations: Cost Concerns Raised

Pasco County planning board members support new regulations to stop the spread of noxious weeds but sent staff back to reconsider some suggestions due to potential effects and costs. Commissioner Kathryn Starkey raised concerns over the invasive plant cogon grass. Some commissioners argued that the proposed rules were too burdensome for developers and homeowners, as they would require extensive testing and removal of invasive plants even during early development stages.
