Pasco County School Board had to cancel its deal with Pepin Academies to open a charter school serving students with special needs due to rising costs and delays in construction. The district asked Pepin to contribute about $3 million towards the construction, but Pepin missed the deadlines for providing a letter of credit. The district will meet the needs of the students that the new charter school was going to serve.
