Pasco County School District Settles DOJ Discrimination Investigation

The Pasco County school district has reached a settlement agreement with the Department of Justice, ending an investigation into discrimination against students with disabilities. The DOJ found that the district routinely suspended or called the police on students with disabilities, instead of providing proper support and de-escalation. Under the agreement, the district will change its policies and hire a consultant to assess disability-related behaviors.
