The Pasco County school district’s first dedicated early learning center, Mittye P. Locke Early Learning Academy, will close after two years of operation. The disappointment comes after enrollment dropped below expectations, with fewer than three families applying for the Voluntary Prekindergarten program for the fall. The school’s programs are losing about $1.5 million annually.
