A week-old wildfire in Port Richey is being monitored by firefighters to ensure it burns out on its own. The Florida Forest Service is investigating the cause, which is believed to be due to someone cooking over a fire. The fire came close to nearby townhomes and required mutual aid from New Port Richey, Pasco County, and Florida Forestry Service.
