Residents Frustrated With Slow Permitting Process In Flood Damaged Florida Community

Resident Jennifer Judy is still waiting for a permit to fix her flood-damaged house in the Gulf Harbors community of New Port Richey. Pasco County officials say they are doing their best to keep up with the demand for permits, but the process is delayed due to damage assessments and regulations. The county wants residents to rebuild their homes, but non-compliance could lead to loss of federally regulated mortgages.
