Residents Struggle With Flooding After Hurricane Milton In Dade City, Florida

Michael and Kimberly Barnes, longtime residents of Dade City, face difficulties living due to floodwaters caused by Hurricane Milton. The area, once flatland with trees, now has more than 300 homes built higher, leading to flooding. Contractors can’t reach their home for repairs, and they have been forced to live with friends. The commissioner advises patience while the issues are addressed, but questions over responsibility remain between the county, the city, and Swiftmud.
