Saint Leo University Nursing Graduates Celebrate Culmination Of Pandemic-era Education

Four years of classes, stress, and navigating a life post-covid paid off for nursing graduates of Saint Leo University’s inaugural nursing program during National Nurses Week. The graduates, who started their program in 2021 during the height of the pandemic, felt unprepared but now feel more prepared than they ever thought they would. Nursing instructor Paige Porter taught them well-being, self-care, and the latest technology. The hands-on experience provided by a partnership with AdventHealth Zephyrhills solidified what nursing means to graduates. Emily Edwards, one of the graduates, hopes to take her board exams in June and work in pediatrics.
