Shelter For At-risk Youth Finds Support In Community

A shelter in New Port Richey, Florida named RAP House helps at-risk children who are homeless, runaway, or facing family conflict. Mark Wickham, CEO of Youth and Family Advocates, leads the 24/7 shelter, serving youth between 10 and 17. The nonprofit operates in seven different counties across the Tampa Bay Region and relies on grants and community support. The RAP River Run, a 10 or 5k race, saw a record-breaking year of attendees and sponsors, raising over 1 million dollars for the program.
