The Florida Cabinet has quietly approved giving Cabot Citrus Farms, a luxury golf resort, 324 acres of Withlacoochee State Forest land, some of which harbors threatened species. In return, Cabot would buy 861 acres of timber land to give to the state. Experts have raised legal questions about the validity of the land swap, and the public has demanded answers.
