Tampa Bay School Districts To Increase School Lunch Prices Due To Inflation And Tariffs

Two school districts in Tampa Bay, Pasco and Pinellas, are set to increase school lunch prices due to inflation and the impacts of tariffs. Pasco County Schools will raise lunch prices by 5%, while Pinellas will increase prices for elementary, middle, and high school meals by 50 cents, 40 cents, and $1 respectively. Other school districts like Hernando, Citrus, and Polk County are exempt from paying due to the USDA’s Community Eligibility Program. Hillsborough County Schools have no plans to increase prices for the current or next school year.
