Clemmie Butler, born in 1902 to farm laborers in Dade City, faced numerous hardships throughout her life. Marrying at a young age, she raised three children after her husband’s untimely death. To make ends meet, she took in laundry and eventually grew her business to include the washing of school uniforms. Despite losing her home and business to a fire, Clemmie continued to persevere and was remembered as a benevolent neighbor.
