Vagus Nerve Stimulation Helps Stroke Victim Regain Arm Movement

Randy Jackson, a 68-year-old Tampa resident who suffered a serious stroke in February 2021, underwent a new procedure that helped him regain movement in his left arm through vagus nerve stimulation. The procedure involves inserting a small pacemaker-like device in the chest that is hooked up to the vagus nerve, and triggering it to send signals to the brain.
