Fern Kinion, a veteran from the Tampa Bay area, was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force 75 years ago. She was one of the first women to ever be in the Air Force. She went on to serve at the Air Force Academy for over 30 years and witnessed the historic shift of women attending the Air Force Academy in 1980. After being discharged, Kinion went on to travel and explore different opportunities.
