Mike Rowe, host of Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs, criticizes the glorification of corner office jobs and the devaluation of skilled trades. Pasco-Hernando State College has launched free vocational apprenticeship programs in construction and apartment maintenance to fill the 5000 open positions in these industries. Local companies are providing paid jobs to students and the program is seeking more instructors.
