On June 27, the Zephyrhills Police Department launched an investigation into a shooting in a Wawa parking lot that led to a car chase and crash. The victim, Brandon Raymond Lee, claimed he was shot by Quinson De’Shawn Croson, a Dade City resident and manager of a Zephyrhills bar. Witnesses and evidence suggest Croson retrieved a handgun from his car and fired multiple shots at Lee before crashing his vehicle. Croson fled the scene but was later arrested and charged with attempted homicide and felony firearm possession.
