Deputies in Lutz, Florida have charged 29-year-old Carla Sanchez Diaz with abandoning three dogs at a gas station, later confessing to the act. One dog had to be euthanized due to suffering, while the other two are recovering. Two additional dogs were found at her home and turned over to animal control. Five children were also found living in the home, and their custody was taken by the Florida Department of Children and Families. Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed his dismay at the inhumane conditions.
