Alfred Bonati, the founder of the Bonati Spine Institute, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy with debts of more than $10 million. The financial malaise comes after the clinic was temporarily shut down by state regulators due to unlicensed surgical technologist performing surgeries, and numerous state disciplinary complaints and lawsuits from former patients.
