A Tampa Bay non-profit, ‘Seniors in Service’, has launched a disaster support program that provides seniors with meals, connection, and hurricane readiness training. The program addresses the issues of loneliness and lack of preparedness among older adults, especially after last year’s hurricane season. The initiative has been successful in adopting eight communities and growing in attendance.
