Community Rallies To Save Centuries-old Oak Tree From Removal

Residents in Dade City, Florida are fighting to save a 200-year-old grand oak tree that is slated for removal by the county officials who say it’s threatening a World War II memorial beneath it. Local resident Kevin Taggerty, through his Facebook page, has rallied fellow residents to help save the tree, which they consider as the heart of the city. The tree’s removal is now being considered by the Board of County Commissioners.
