Darden Closes Bahama Breeze Locations, Saddlebrook Resort Develops New Townhomes

Darden Restaurants Inc. plans to permanently close half of its 28 Bahama Breeze locations, including the Wesley Chapel outlet, while converting the remaining to other Darden brands like Olive Garden or The Capital Grille. The closures will occur by April 5, with conversions expected over 12-18 months. Meanwhile, Saddlebrook Resort near Wesley Chapel saw a $8.5 million land sale to Dream Finder’s Homes for luxury townhome development, part of a broader revitalization effort. The project includes 118 townhomes, commercial spaces, and retail, with Mast Capital and Amzak Capital Management overseeing the resort’s transformation. The developments highlight shifting business strategies in retail and real estate.
