A 25-year-old Spring Hill man died late Wednesday night after fleeing Pasco County deputies involved in a drug investigation and crashing during a high-speed escape into Hernando County. Florida Highway Patrol reported he lost control on Mariner Boulevard near Lindsay Road, striking a curb before slamming into a Ford Mustang and a concrete wall. Ejected from his vehicle, he succumbed to injuries at a hospital, while the Mustang’s driver survived with non-life-threatening injuries. Pasco deputies confirmed the suspect had evaded them twice previously but stated their pursuit ended before the crash. Authorities have yet to release his name as investigations continue into the chaotic chain of events.
