High School Students Earn Paid Internships Through Financial Literacy Partnership With Credit Union

Six high school students are earning money this summer by working at Achieva Credit Union branches after completing a financial literacy course led by their teacher. The partnership between Angeline Academy of Innovation and Achieva Credit Union allows students to serve members, process transactions, and work toward certification. Teacher Chad Mallo, formerly a banker himself, designed the program based on his professional experience and the Certified Financial Counselor credentials. Through this innovative arrangement, participating students can now pursue paid internships once they successfully complete the certification requirements. This marks the second year of collaboration, with plans to potentially expand the program in future seasons. The initiative demonstrates how local educators and financial institutions can work together to provide valuable real-world experience for young learners while addressing community needs.
