In 1984, Wright, a tire store manager, was disappointed with the barbecue in Tampa and decided to open his own restaurant, Hungry Harry’s Bar-B-Que. Despite having no experience in the industry, he was determined to provide a better barbecue experience. The restaurant, which opened in 1985, has been serving customers for 40 years, and has become a staple in the Land O’ Lakes community.
