A Marion County man was ticketed by Florida Highway Patrol troopers after crashing into a boat trailer on Interstate 75 in Pasco County. The incident occurred on Monday evening around 6:30 p.m. when an Acura MDX driven by a 43-year-old Summerfield man entered the outside lane while navigating a curve on the entrance ramp from Blanton Road. Simultaneously, a Chevy Silverado towing a boat operated by a 66-year-old Tarpon Springs man was traveling in that same lane. The collision knocked the boat off its trailer and dragged it along the highway until it came to rest. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in either vehicle involved in the crash. The Acura driver received a citation for his role in the accident according to FHP officials.
